What's in a name?

BigTXN has been officially registered as a trademark in the United Kingdom!

As a company, our name is the foundation creating our identity. Why were we created? What do we stand for? What is our value proposition? It is also the mechanism by which we first introduce ourselves to our customers, before we are able to describe and demonstrate our products and services.

Like any other business building a brand, we know the true value and cost of innovation and the enormous time, passion, creativity, energy and attention to detail that goes into designing and bringing new data products to market. Consequently, it was important for us to take the step of protecting our name to defend our intellectual property.

What does BigTXN mean? BigTXN is a combination of “Big” from Big Data and “Transaction”. Big Data is the driving force enabling us to deliver a global view of ESG data. TXN is the abbreviated scientific form of Transaction, which is the basic unit of information exchange in a database. We maintain the basic units of information from all of our data sources, which allows our end users to explore originally reported granular information, source-by-source and also at an issuer-by-issuer level.

The BigTXN logo is a symbol of harmony and comprehensive protection of data. The two outer shapes represent hands and the inner shape represents data. The hand shapes do not meet and remain open at both ends in order to represent input and output. The data shape is circular in shape and the symmetrical order represents a harmonised and secure view of data.
